Michelle Shellhaas, PT, DPT
Michelle Shellhaas, PT, DPT, has always been involved in the medical process in some way or another. She was exposed early on from either having a family member that was in health care or just by being in and out of the doctor’s office regularly. Being around medical professionals and seeing the positive impact they made on patients inspired her to follow a similar path. She decided that one day, she would care for women.
Recognizing that women can develop conditions that need therapy to heal, Michelle set out to become a PT. She first acquired knowledge of the human body and its capabilities by earning her Bachelor of Science in Physical Education from Pacific Lutheran University. She later returned to Creighton University and earned her Doctorate of Physical Therapy. Today, she is a physical therapist at Methodist Physicians Clinic.
Michelle’s mission is for her patients to be involved in every step of their care. She believes that having meaningful interactions with people allows them to be empowered and confident in becoming part of their healing process. This is also important for her because it allows her to educate patients and help them understand how their body functions.
In her free time, Michelle enjoys spending quiet time at home. She also loves cooking and baking treats for her family. When she has time to herself, she often reads or works on her physical fitness.
